Simon & Schuster, Urano World Publishing Announce Spanish Language Publishing Deal

Big Five publisher Simon & Schuster this week announced the establishment of a joint publishing arrangement between its Primero Sueño Press, an imprint of Atria Books, and Urano World Publishing Group, one of the biggest independent publishers in Spain and Latin America.

Under the deal, “a select number” of Spanish language titles will be published in Spain and Latin America by Urano World and its imprints, notes a joint release, while in the United States, co-published titles will be published under the Primero Sueño Press imprint.

Launched in February 2024, Primero Sueño Press is dedicated to publishing Latinx/Latine/Hispanic authors in both English and Spanish, and comes amid a mandate by S&S to grow its international business.

“Since we announced Primero Sueño Press in February 2024, the reader response to the imprint’s mission to serve Spanish and English speakers has been remarkable,” said Simon & Schuster CEO Jonathan Karp, in a statement. “This partnership with Urano World Publishing Group, one of the best known and most respected publishers of Spanish-language books around the world, is an exciting next step in making these books available to readers worldwide and expanding their reach.”

Joaquín Sabaté, CEO of Urano World said the publisher was eager to get started. “The depth and diversity of [the S&S] editorial catalog will enable us to move forward together, fostering a new and enhanced level of engagement with Spanish-speaking readers around the globe,” Sabaté said in a statement.  

The release notes that Primero Sueño Press’s inaugural list under the joint venture will feature more than 20 translated titles. The first co-published title will be the Spanish edition of For Whom the Belle Tolls by Jaysea Lynn, which will release on October 21, 2025, in conjunction with publication of the book’s Special Edition in the United States. Future publications include the Spanish editions of The Book of Shadow WorkDetoxify: The Everyday Toxins Harming Your Immune System; and the high-profile horror anthology The Ghosts of Where We Are From
